Thamar Zweistra's successful small tour horse Erina has been sold to Korea. The dark bay, sensitive mare was competed up to Grand Prix level.

Erina is an 11-year old Dutch warmblood mare by Jazz out of Arina (by Sandro Hit x Sultan x Epigoon).

She is bred by the famous KWPN breeder Willy Wijnen out of the proven dam line of  Barina (by Sultan). The line produced KWPN stallion Tolando.

Auction Foal

In 2009 she sold as a foal at the Marel-Kessel Foal Auction for 7,600 euro.

Initially owned by Dutch duo Alfonds Geerts and Heidi Sanders, Erina was trained and competed as a youngster by Roos Dyson and owner Sanders.

The mare was twice bred and produced the 2014 born filly Jive (by Fairytale) and the 2015 born filly Karina (by Glamourdale).

Hexagon

Erina moved to Stable Hexagon in December 2015 where she was ridden by Thamar Zweistra, who had coached Sanders on Erina.

In 2018 she sold to Hungarian investor Arie Yom-Tov, the year that Zweistra made her international show debut on Erina.

The combination first competed at the CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland in April 2018, followed by the CDIO Uggerhalne a month later. At the 2019 CDI Fot  in Hungary they scored a triple victory in the small tour with seventy percentage scores.

In 2019 the pair showed at Neumunster, Joosland, Pilisjaszfalu, Fot and Le Mans and clocked no less than five victories. They placed fourth at the 2019 Dutch Small Tour Championships in Ermelo.

This year they made their international Grand Prix debut at the CDI Pilisjaszfalu in August, scoring 69.044% in the Grand Prix and 67.362% in the Special.

Thamar's employer, breeder and trainer Leunis van Lieren, was aware of the value of this line and in agreement with the owner did embryotransfer on the mare in 2019, resulting in a 2020 born foal by Hexagon's Double Dutch out of Erina.

Korea

Erina has now been sold to Korea.  The mare has been acquired by Kihun Kwak as an Asian Games hopeful for his wife Hyunju Son.
