The 2021 German Sport Horse (DSP) Stallion Licensing, which was set to start on 20 January 2021, has been cancelled last minute.
Hosted in Munich, the DSP Stallion Licensing was scheduled for 20 - 23 January 2021. A group of approximately 45 dressage colts were up for approval.
The District Administration Office decided to cancel the event today.
Germany has been in a hard lockdown since mid December with all non essential shops closed. In Bavaria there is a curfew at 21h00 and even schools are closed. The Bavarian minister-president is Markus Söder, whose daughter is a German young riders' dressage team member. In Germany as well as in many European countries there is a spike in corona infections and a rising fear for the infectious British and South African variant.
The organizers of the licensing are now looking last minute to relocate the event to the Neustadt/Dosse, which is the federal state of Brandenburg.
