The start of the Ankum spring show season in 2021 already had to be postponed because of the hard contact restrictions due to Covid-19. The renewed extension of the lockdown unfortunately did not bring any relaxations for the practice of amateur sport in Germany.
For this reason, the decision was made to hold the tournament from February 23-28 for professional riders only, in order to be able to offer at least professional riders a start into the 2021 competition season.
New Schedule
Due to the new conditions, a new schedule has been created for the tournament from the February 24-26 at the Sport- und Auktionszentrum Ankum, which can be found at https://www.nennung-online.de/ on 17 February at 10 a.m.
"We kindly ask all riders, who are allowed to start with this new adjustment, to place their entries again. The last date to enter is 21 February," said the show host.
Support Amateurs
"All other members we kindly ask for their understanding at this time," said François Kasselmann. "Although we feel equally connected to professional riders and amateur athletes, we are trying to regain a bit of normality in equestrian sports with this decision. The effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) are impacting on riders, horse owners and show organizers with particular severity. Despite this difficult situation, we would like to continue to support amateur athletes in the future. As soon as the current protective measures allow it, we will find a replacement offer for amateur athletes, so that they also have the same opportunity to use the ADC offer and can successfully start the 2021 tournament season."
