One of the new FEI Dressage Rules that has come into effect on 1 January 2021 is that junior riders are no longer permitted to wear tails.

As of 2021 all junior riders will compete in a normal jacket, just like the pony and children riders.

Any single colour jacket (approved by the Athlete’s NF) will be allowed. Striped or multi-coloured jackets are not permitted. Tasteful and discreet accents, such as a collar of a different hue or modest piping or crystal decorations, are acceptable.

At all CDIJ/CDIP/CDICh/CDIYH (5 and 6 yo), a black or dark blue jacket must be worn.
