Linsenhoff Buys Portuguese 7-YO Champion Java da Hermida

Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff has acquired Java da Hermida, the 2021 Portuguese Dressage champion in the 7-year old division.

Java de Hermida is a Lusitano mare by Carrico out of Cabaça da Hermida (by Soberano). She is bred and owned by Coudelaria Quinta da Hermida.

Silver and Gold

As a 4-year old the grey mare was ridden by Bruno Moreira, but as of 2020 Portuguese 2018 WEG team rider Vasco Mira Godinho began competing the horses and riding him in the picture.

Vasco and Java made their international show debut at the 2020 CDI Beloura, where they finished fourth in the 6-year old classes with 73.00 and 74.00 points. At the 2020 Portuguese Young Horse Championships in November the pair got the silver medal behind Jasmim Plus.

This year Java da Hermida did not do any international shows, but at the 2021 Portuguese Young Horse Championships they grabbed the title and gold medal with scores of 70.886% and 75.814%.

Sale to Germany

On 8 November, the owner announced the sale of the mare to Germany.

"It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that we announce the departure of our mare Java da Hermida PSL, recently national champion in dressage for 7 years, to Germany," Coudelaria Quinta da Hermida posted. "Sadness because it was a mare that gave us a lot of illusion, joy because we know that conditions are in place for the continuation of successes. We wish the new owners, Ann Kathrine Linsenhoff, all the best and we thank their top rider Vasco Mira Godinho for the excellent work he did with her."
