Vincent Maranello Moves to Korea

Former Danish warmblood licensed stallion Vincent Maranello has moved to Korea as a future FEI ride for Korean Olympian Dong Seon Kim. 

Vincent Maranello is an 11-year old Danish warmblood gelding by Blue Hors Zack out of Carrera (by Blue Hors Future Cup x Romancier x Weltstar). He is bred by Jane Gry Haugum. 

Licensed Stallion

The 1.76 cm standing stallion was licensed at the 2013 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning and received the premium title.

He won the the 2013 Danish Autumn Stallion Performance Testing with 866 points.

Vincent Maranello sired the Oldenburg premium stallion Zuperman (out of a Destano dam). 

Sport Career

Initially owned by the breeder until 2015 according to the FEI database, Vincent Maranello made his national show debut in Denmark as a 4-year old under Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard. He placed 11th at the 2014 Danish Young Horse Championships.

In 2015 the horse sold to Helgstrand Dressage and competed for Denmark at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where he was 9th in the Finals. He was fifth at the 2015 Danish YH Championships.

A year later the tall stallion finished 7th in the consolation finals at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo. At the 2016 Danish Young Horse Championships he was sixth. 

Move to the U.S.A.

In December 2016 Vincent Maranello sold to American Lauren Asher. He was gelded to be focused on sport.

Asher initially kept him at her yard in The Netherlands but spent the winter in Florida and first competing him in a Third level test in one national class at the 2017 Global Dressage Festival.

A year later Vincent returned to the arena in Wellington under Canadian Chris von Martels, who rode him twice in a Fourth level test. 

Korea

Vincent Maranello has arrived in Korea
In the winter of 2019- 2020 Asher returned Vincent Maranello to Helgstrand Dressage to be resold.

The horse was shown again by Michael Grønne Christensen in an M-level class in January 2020. Nine months later he moved up to Prix St Georges level and placed 8th at a national show in Vejle in September 2020. It was the last time the horse competed. 

Vincent Maranello has now been sold to Dong Seon Kim, who represented Korea at the 2016 and 2021 Olympic Games.  The gelding arrived in Korea a few weeks ago.
