Fourteen colts received a ticket to the 2022 KWPN Stallion Licensing after the second pre-selection day for dressage bred colts, which are hosted at the KWPN headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 1 - 10 December 2021.
The KWPN licensing committee, consisting of Bert Rutten, Johan Hamminga and Wouter Plaizier, assessed a substantial group of colts on day two of five days of dressage selection.
The sire who did best today was the Rhinelander stallion Escamillo (by Escolar x Rohdiamant) with no less than four sons accepted for the licensing. Other stallions that did well with their offspring were Deparon U.S. (2), Dream Boy (2), and Vitalis (2).
"We selected a number of good stallions for the second phase, in which it was clearly quality over quantity. We could have even selected more. A few stallions today, however, failed on conformation, which is always a pity," said Bert Rutten. "We assess in the same line and picked 14 colts today, including four sons of Escamillo. This is different blood, which is what we are always looking for."
Selected on day two for the 2022 KWPN Licensing are:
- Ohio (by Apache x Ampère)
- nn (by Dante's Junior x Sion)
- Orlando (by Deparon U.S. x Uphill)
- Oklahoma (by Deparon U.S. x Spielberg)
- Onze Ferrari (by Desperado x Enzo Ferrari)
- Oké HT (by Dream Boy x Uphill)
- Obsession A (by Dream Boy x United)
