US Equestrian has announced the combinations selected to represent the U.S. Dressage Team at the FEI Nations Cup CDIO hosted in Wellington, Fla., from 17 - 20 March 2022. A senior mixed team and Under 25 Grand Prix team have been nominated.
U.S. Teams
This will be the first team outing of the 2022 competition season for the U.S. Dressage Team.
Unlike at FEI Nations Cup competitions in Europe, the Wellington one, the only CDIO on North American soil, allows for a mixed team of small and big tour riders in the senior leg of the CDIO. The U.S.A. has chosen three Grand Prix combinations and one small tour pair:
- Bianca Berktold (Loxahatchee, Fla.) and her own Imperial, a 2013 Dutch Warmblood mare (small tour)
- Katie Duerrhammer (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and Quartett, a 2007 Brandenburg gelding owned by Kylee Lourie
- Susie Dutta (Wellington, Fla.) and her own Don Design DC, a 2010 Hanoverian gelding
- Ben Ebeling (Moorpark, Calif.) and Indeed, a 2008 Danish Warmblood mare owned by Vantage Equestrian
The Under 25 team includes:
- Kaylee Christensen(Holland, Mich.) and Chateau 28, a 2008 Holsteiner gelding owned by Kaylee Christensen and Kate Christensen
- Quinn Iverson (Wellington, Fla.) and Beckham 19, a 2009 Hanoverian gelding owned by Billie Davidson
- Nicole Scarpino (Gainesville, Fla.) and Lambada 224, a 2007 Hanoverian mare owned by Nicole Scarpino and Jennifer Scarpino
The senior team captain is George Williams, the U25 team captain is Charlotte Bredahl.
2022 FEI Nations Cup Series
The CDIO Wellington is the first of the 2022 FEI Nations Cup series which features just six CDIO's in total this year.
The 2022 series includes:
- Wellington - 15 - 20 March 2022
- Mariakalnok - 5 - 8 May 2022
- Compiegne - 19 - 22 May 2022
- Rotterdam - 23 - 26 June 2022
- Aachen - 28 June - 3 July 2022
- Falsterbo - 14 - 17 July 2022
