Incredible, the 2021 Oldenburg licensing champion, and Vogue, the auction price highlight of the 2021 Westfalian licensing, have temporarily been pulled from stud duty at the start of the 2022 breeding season.
Both stallions are owned by Helgstrand Dressage and were standing at stud.
"We are currently working together with Tierersätzliche Hochschule in Hannover, Germany to examine the semen of our 3-year-old stallions Incredible and Vogue more closely, as their semen does not meet the required quality," Helgstrand communicated today. "Until we know the answer to the tests, we have therefore decided to take them out of our breeding program."
Incredible (by Indian Rock x For Romance I x K2) was named the 2021 Oldenburg Licensing champion. He is bred by Andrea Beckheim and sold to Andreas Helgstrand and Stutteri EVO at the Oldenburg stallion pre-selection. He went on to become licensing champion. Incredible was presented at the 2022 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning at the beginning of March, but he was pulled out when he turned unlevel on the lunge line.
The Hanoverian Vogue (by Vitalis x Fidertanz x Sandro Hit) was a premium stallion at the 2021 Westfalian Licensing. Bred by Herbert Werth, the bay colt sold at auction for 940,000 euro to Helgstrand and his co-investors. Vogue went on to be claimed premium stallion at the 2022 Danish warmblood licensing a month ago.
"We expect to have an answer shortly and as soon as the results of the tests are available, we will inform you," Helgstrand stated.
Both stallions were presented under saddle on 2 April at the Helgstrand stallion show in Denmark. Incredible was ridden by Eric Guardia Martinez and Vogue by Anne Mette Strandby Hansen.
