Charlotte Fry's top scoring IBOP mare Nareina has been sold to the U.S.A. as a future sport and breeding mare at Julie Anne Quay’s Foxy Meadow Farm based in North Salem New York.

Nareina is a 2018 born mare by Everdale out of Wereina (by Krack C x Gribaldi). She is bred and was owned by C. Oudijk-van de Steldt from Arkel, The Netherlands.

Under Van Olst's stable rider Alvaro Conesa de Oliveira, Nareina first came into the spotlight by finishing fifth in the 2021 KWPN West-Brabant regional Young Dressage Talent competition.

In the autumn of 2021 Charlotte Fry took over the ride and navigated the mare to the top score of the day, 87 points, in the IBOP KWPN mare performance test in Velddriel. At the Dressage Talent Competition in Berlicum in February, they were fourth with 84 points.

In July 2022 Fry rode the 4-year old mare to a 6th place in the Pavo Cup qualifier in Deurne. Her 80 point score ranked her 31st in the country in the final Pavo Cup standing and eligible for the 2022 Pavo Cup Semi-Finals which were held at the same time as the World Championships in Herning. Nareina did not compete in the semi finals due to the pending sale and with rider Lottie picking up double gold in Denmark.

She will be trained and shown by FEI rider Mary Bahniuk Lauritsen of Millennium Dressage, who is based in the New York area and in Wellington this winter.

"I am so grateful for Julie Anne‘s trust in my training program and our shared vision both for competition and future breeding endeavours," Lauritsen explained. We have big shoes to fill with Lottie being her former rider but we could not be more excited for what the future holds with this special horse."

This is the second future hopeful Mary has received the ride on via sponsorship. Last December the 8-year old KWPN gelding Jaccardo (by Desperado x Jazz) was bought by Victoria Lunt from Saskia Van Es in The Netherlands.
