Australian entrepreneur Bruce Dixon has put Turnberry equestrian center up for sale. The yard was the base of "Helgstrand at Turnberry".

The property is back on the market with no sales price listed. The realtor added that "Prior offers will be considered".

Statene Park

Dixon purchased this property located in Drysdale from Australian dressage Olympian Mary Hanna in the summer of 2020. It was originally called "Statene Park" and is situated on the Bellarine Penninsula near Melbourne. The estate was listed for  $7 - $7.7 million AUD.

Dixon planned on turning "Turnberry Equestrian Center" into a sales barn and breeding stud".  Hanna remained based at the yard until her move out in September 2021.

Helgstrand at Turnberry

In July 2021 Dixon announced a partnership with Helgstrand Dressage and the 26-year old Alicia Ryan was put in charge of the training and preparing of the sales horses at Turnberry for the Australian market.

At the time Eurodressage interviewed Dixon and he said that, "we have joined as partners in Australia in relation to the horses, not real estate. We plan to concentrate on breeding but also offer top line horses for sale into the Australian market." Andreas Helgstrand confirmed the collaboration but added that the partnership is "just in a small scale."

Macedon Lodge

Macedon Lodge
Dixon has not lost interest in horse sport. Last July the Victorian businessman bought one of the country’s top Thoroughbred farms, and is believed to have parted with more than $20 million to secure the iconic 120-hectare farm, Macedon Lodge, home to no less than four Melbourne Cup winners.

The yard will continue to be a race horse training centre, but will also include Turnberry's dressage and warmblood horse breeding business.

"We have recently purchased a new bigger property closer to Melbourne which we will relocate to in 2023," Turnberry manager Lyndall Kramer told Eurodressage. "Helgstrand is still in development here in Australia and we hope we will have the room and facilities to really grow at the new property.  We have already got exciting breeding plans for this season with the fantastic mares that Andreas has sent out.
