In her new role as Head Official, Mariette will be the bannerman for all Dutch officials in equestrian sport," the KNHS stated. "She will lobby for the interests of the officials in and outside the KNHS. Together with the KNHS head teacher, she will do everything to promote and stimulate good and correct horse riding.
Sanders-Van Gansewinkel will be assisting in the development of the officials training, in tune with future in which harmony and horse welfare are priority.
"Horse and rider are of course primary at an evenet, but there is no competition without officials," said Mariette. "Aside from the judging, they take care of the welfare of the horse and fair sport during a show. An important role which deserves attention, knowledge development and representation within the structure of the KNHS. With my experience as an official, communicator and organizer I like to contribute to that in this role."
