The rising international Grand Prix horse Dedale de Hus has been sold to Austria. He will continue his sport career under new owner, Franziska Fries.

Dedale de Hus is a 10-year old Oldenburg gelding by Don Juan de Hus out of Walkyrie de Hus (by Furst Heinrich x Wanderbusch II). He is bred by Xavier Marie in France.

Dedale de Hus was born and reared at Haras de Hus and sold as a two-year old to an amateur, who resold him to a horse dealer.

Dedale first stayed in France and got his first training from Stephanie Brieussel. He was never shown in France.

The gelding sold out of Brieussel's yard to Japanese Masahiro Kosaka

Dedale de Hus moved into training at Patrik Kittel's yard where Kosaka kept his horses at the time.

The gelding made his show debut in Germany under Swedish Malin Wahlkamp-Nilsson in May 2020 at small tour level. She rode him in the Nurnberberg Burgpokal qualifier in Ankum and qualified for the Finals in Kronberg, where they were fifth.

In 2021 Dedale de Hus moved to Developing Grand Prix level and won the Louisdor Cup qualifier in Hagen. He dropped out for the Finals in December 2021 as Kosaka decided to move all his horses to Christoph Koschel's yard.

In 2022 Dedale competed in two national shows in Germany before his international show debut under Koschel at the CDI Waregem in Belgium, where they scored 69.478% in the Grand Prix for first place.

Dedale de Hus has now been sold to Austrian Franziska Fries, who tried him out at Koschel's in Germany.

Fries had a highly successful Under 25 career aboard Atomic and moved him into the senior ranks in 2019. They won bronze at the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix Championships. In 2022 Fries took over the ride on her own Te Quiero SF (by Totilas) which her coach Christian Schumach rode at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Fries has now added Dedale de Hus to her string as a Grand Prix hopeful.

"He's such a wonderful horse! I can't believe how lucky I am," a thrilled Fries told Eurodressage. Coach Christian Schumach added, "I'm super happy and proud that she has another superstar in her barn and that I'll train and support her like I did the last 10 years. I'm sure we'll continue our sucsessful journey together and we're both really excited."
