After a first pre-selection day in Vallensbak on 11 December 2022, the Danish warmblood stallion licensing committee held two more pre-selection days and accepted 19 more colts for the 2023 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning next March.
Nine at Helgstrand
Originally one more pre-selection day was scheduled at the national headquarters in Vilhelmsborg on 14 December 2022, but a suspected strangles outbreak at Andreas Helgstrand's youngstock stable Ny Ravnstrup prevented him from travelling with a huge number of colts, so the committee was flexible and decided to drive up north and do a "home" pre-selection at Ny Ravnstrup.
Helgstrand presented 14 young stallion prospects and 9 of them were accepted, 8 of them rising 3-year olds and one rising 4-year old. Seven of them are co-owned with the breeders or investors.
Ten at Vilhelmsborg
Twenty-one dressage bred colts were presented in Vilhelmsborg and 10 of those were accepted.
