After having stood up for stud in The Netherlands for two years, the 6-year old Bue Hors Santiano has returned home to his owner in Denmark.
Blue Hors Santiano is a Danish warmblood by Sezuan out of Romanik (by Romanov x Don Schufro). He is bred by Eva Götze and is the half brother of Zonik.
Straight Horse Santiano
Originally known as Straight Horse Santiano, the stallion was bought by the Danish Blue Hors stud as a young colt and renamed "Blue Hors Santiano".
He became the third best scoring horse in the 2020 KWPN Stallion Performance Test with 87.5 points and was accepted for KWPN breeding. This approval implied a third name change to "My Blue Hors Santiano" to reflect the age of the horse through the KWPN letter system, starting with an M for 2017 born colts.
Van Uytert
Blue Hors made a collaboration with Dutch stallion station Van Uytert, where he has stood up for stud since 2021.
He became the most popular breeding stallion in The Netherlands, having covered the most mares in 2021 with 253 KWPN registered foals born in 2022.
He was first presented under saddle by Gerrel Vink, but then Renate van Uytert-van Vliet took over the ride. The pair won the 2022 Pavo Cup Finals.
Homecoming
Despite his popularity in The Netherlands, Blue Hors has decided to bring home Santiano to Denmark.
The news was announced during the 2023 KWPN Stallion Licensing in Den Bosch, where Santiano had just finished third in the 2023 KWPN Stallion Competition Finals.
