The 4-year old Blue Hors Luton passed away after suffering a severe colic attack over Easter weekend.

Luton was a Hanoverian stallion by La Vie out of Brenda (by Bretton Woods x His Highness). He was bred by Bernhard Sieverding.

The bay was first licensed in February 2022 at a Baden-Wurttemberger licensing in Marbach and approved for Oldenburg two weeks later.

He finished third with 8.04 points in the 2022 Short Suitability test in Schlieckau, scoring 8 for walk, 7.8 for trot, 8.6 for canter, 7.8 for rideability and 8.2 for willingness to work. In the autumn of 2022 he did the 50-day performance test in Adelheidsdorf, where he got 8.35 for dressage.

Owned by Blue Hors, Luton was presented and accepted at the 2023 Danish warmblood licensing in Herning a month ago.

Last weekend, Luton developed colic and despite all veterinary care he did not survive.

"We are of course very sad to lose such a young and promising colt," said Blue Hors breeding manager Martin Klavsen. "We did what we could, but despite surgery Luton could unfortunately not be saved."
