Eleven older stallions have been approved for breeding at the 2023 Danish warmblood stallion licensing in Herning on 9 March 2023. The performance test winner Svalegårds Hot Driver has been named champion in the group of 4-year olds.
Horse Hot Spot in Herning
The 2023 Danish warmblood stallion licensing in Herning has developed into a horse horse event with international dressage and show jumping classes hosted parallel to the licensing and Blue Hors Young Horse Championship, a special 5-year old championship (not an official National YH Championship) with a popular test rider finals as crowd magnet at the event.
The licensing part falls into two categories: the 3-year old young candidates and the "older stallions" including the 4-year old also DWB licensed colts that seek lifetime approval, as well as older foreign bred or non-licensed stallions that want a pass for breeding in Denmark. They are presented under saddle in front of the licensing committee, consisting of Bjarne Nielsen, Johnny Nørgaard Sørensen, Vicky Nortvig and Dennis Fisker.
4-YO: Svalegårds Hot Driver Champion
In the group of 4-year old Danish warmblood licensed colts, performance test winner Svalegårds Hot Driver was now also named champion of his age category.
He also received Aage Ravns Trophy for Best Danish Bred Stallion, and was awarded a breeder's medal in silver. Just two Danish bred 4-year olds appeared in the ring, the others were all German and KWPN bred, all owned by Helgstrand Dressage. The other Danish bred stallion was Helgstrand's Åtoftens Springtime (by Springbank II ) who was also awarded a breeder's medal in silver.

- Feinsten (by Franklin x Rock Forever) - Breeder: Hendrik Schulte-Marter - Owner: Helgstrand Dressage
- Fifty Fifty (by Fürst Toto x Royal Classic) - Breeder: Arndt Schwierking - Owner: Helgstrand Dressage
- Blue Hors Luton (by La Vie x Bretton Woods) (tested in Germany)
- Value (by Valverde x Floriscount) - Breeder: Clemens von Merveldt - Owner: Helgstrand Dressage
- Opoque (by All At Oncex Davino VOD) - Breeder: Stal 104 - Owner: Helgstrand Dressage/Stal 104 - 1-year breeding approval as he still needs to complete his performance test in Holland

- About You II (5-yo - by AC-DC x Estobar) - Breeder: Stephan Borgmann - Owner: Helgstrand Dressage - approved based on 35-day testing and sports results
- Movie Star (7-yo - by Morricone x Blue Hors Bentley) - Breeder: Ines Lohmann - Owner: Siri Evjemo-Nysveen - approved based on sports results
- Hesselhoj Double Up (6-yo - by Hesselhoj Donkey Boy x Tailormade Lancelot) - Breeder and Owner: Hesselhoj - a 1-year breeding approval on the basis of excellent championship results
