The 5-year old Friendly Hunting's Vega and the 6-year old Great Gatsby became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held in Notzing on 13 - 14 May 2023.
5-YO: Friendly Hunting's Vega
Twelve pairs contested the L-level dressage horse test, which was judged by Christoph Niemann, Hermann de Reuver, and Felicitas Schröter.
Professional Matthias Bouten rode the Oldenburg gelding Friendly Hunting's Vega (by Valverde x Furst Romancier) to victory with a total of 8.5 pointd. The bay gelding, bred by Paul Schockemöhle and owned by luxury brand CEO Christian Goldmann, received 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, 8.5 for submission and 9 for general impression.
Following in a distance was Ellika Böye on the Werndl family's DSP gelding Valentin (by Vitalis x San Remo) with 8.1. points. The dark bay got 7 for walk, 8.5 for trot, canter, and submission and 8 for general impression.
6-YO: Great Gatsby
The M-level dressage horse test for 6-year olds featured ten pairs and they were judged by Christoph Niemann, Pascal Strohbucker, and Felicitas Schröter.
German team rider Benjamin Werndl and his own Westfalian gelding Great Gatsby (by Grand Galaxy Win x Don Romantic) were favoured and received the highest notes with a winning total of 8.4 points. The dark bay gelding got 8.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 9 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
Spaniard Adrian Munoz Jurado placed second with 8.3 points aboard the Werndl family's Ribstone de Fontaine (by Revolution x Jazz), who is bred by Helgstrand's co-investor and client Bolette Wandt. The Oldenburg registered gelding got 8.5 for walk, trot, canter and general impression and 7.5 for submission.
