The German Equestrian Federation is holding its first of two selection trials for the 2023 World Young Horse Championships at the DOKR headquarters in Warendorf on 19 - 21 June 2023.
On the first two days the selectors saw the candidates in training (19 - 20 June). The 5-year olds did their preliminary test on 20 June after which the long-list was announced.
The 6- and 7-year olds compete in their preliminary test today, 21 June 2023 after which the selectors picked the group eligible to return for the second selection trial.
Twenty-six 6-year old horses were presented and 13 passed: five of them are mares and stallions, three are geldings. Best represented sire is Ibiza (by Desperado x Jazz) with three offspring through to the next round.
