Polish Grand Prix rider Zaneta Skowronska-Kozubik has sold her number one in the barn, Romantic P, to Luxembourg.
Romantic P is a 14-year old Thuringian bred gelding by Rosenstein out of Galice (by Furst Heinrich x Grande). He is bred by Ludwig Ebermann.
Poland
Owned by Malgorzata Brodziak, the liver chestnut Romantic P was first competed at FEI level by Nikola Marczak, who won silver on him at the 2016 Polish Young Riders Championships. He made his international debut under Polish team rider Zaneta Skowronska straight away at Grand Prix level in 2018.
She first showed him at the CDI-W Zakrzow in October 2018 and then went to Zakrzow again, followed by Pilisjaszfalu, Mariakalnok and Brno in 2019.
In the corona year 2020 he showed only twice internationally and their first claim to fame came in 2021 when they rode for Poland at the European Championships in Hagen, where they finished 60th with 65.264% in the Grand Prix.
In 2022 they represented Poland at the World Championships in Herning and posted 67.547% to place 67th in the Grand Prix. Skowronska also won her third national Polish Grand Prix Champion's title on Romantic in 2022.
In preparation of the Group C Olympic team qualifier in Pilisjaszfalu, the pair went to the CDI-W in Olomouc as first show of 2023. On 8 June 2023 Skowronska and Romantic P were instrumental in securing Poland's Olympic team spot at the qualifier in Hungary. They were second in the Grand Prix with 69.696%
Luxembourg
Only three days after Romantic helped secure Poland's team ticket to Paris the ownership was changed to Luxembourg's 5* judge Christof Umbach. The horse's name was also changed to Red Mexx.
On Sunday 18 June 2023 the horse made its national show debut at the CDN Beaufort in Luxembourg, winning an Intermediaire A class with 69.300%. His rider was Umbach's former life and business partner Sascha Schulz.
