Italian Grand Prix rider Esther Soldi has sold her international small tour horse Annarella di Villagana to Austria. The 15-year old grey mare will continue her sport career under Children rider Sophie Birkmann.
Tutto dressage reported the news.
Italian Bred and Trained
Annarella di Villagana is an Italian bred and registered warmblood mare by Calido out of Renatus Z (by Ramiro Z).
Soldi discovered her as a 2-year old at the breeder, Anna Zorzan's Villagana brood farm in Brescia, Italy.
The mare won the Italian Young horse Championships for 4-year olds in 2012. In 2013 she made her international show debut in the 5-year old classes at the CDI Vidauban and also showed in Lipica and Vierzon before representing Italy at the 2013 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where they were 18th in the consolation finals.
Three years later the mare returned to the international arena as a small tour horse at the 2016 CDI Lipica. She moved up to medium tour level in 2017 and to Grand Prix level in 2018. In 2022 she was dropped back down to small tour level and did her last season under Soldi in Ornago, Lipica, St. Margarethen, Crozet and Ornago
Sold to Austria
Annarella has now been sold as a schoolmaster to Austrian children rider Sophie Birkmann.
The 14-year old has represented Austria at the 2022 and 2023 European Children Championships with Dollar Deluxe MB (by Dollar D'or SB x Come Well).
