Lukas Fischer has been hired to head the management of the dressage barn at Paul Schockemöhle's stallion station in Mühlen, Germany, as of 1 November 2023.

"Fischer will be in charge of the dressage department at the sports stable and the breeding station in Mühlen as well as at Lewitz Stud. Together with Paul and Vivien Schockemöhle, Florian Meyer zu Hartum and Andreas Kreuzer, he will set the course for the future of one of the world's largest and most successful breeding, training and sales centres," a Schockemöhle press release stated.

Lukas and Tanja Fischer

The 33-year-old Lukas Fischer is son of renowned trainer Bernhard Fischer.  He is considered a young horse specialist with victories at the Bundeschampionate and more than 50 victories in advanced (S) level up to Grand Prix level. Lukas and his wife Tanja, a successful dressage trainer and competitor in her own right, will both the Schockemöhle team.

The couple has been running a renowned training and sales stable in Emstek, Lower Saxony, since 2016, which became an insemination station in 2019, initially only for riding pony stallions, but since this year also with warmblood stallions.

"We enjoyed our own farm a lot, but we couldn't refuse Paul Schockemöhle's offer. We are proud and grateful to be given this opportunity to steer the fortunes of what is probably the most renowned breeding, training and marketing business of all, together with him and his team," Tanja and Lukas Fischer explained.

Fischer and Schockemöhler Merger

First exploratory talks with Paul Schockemöhle had been held about the Champion Stallion Viva Romance PS, who was born at Lewitz Stud and is bred by Tanja and Lukas Fischer. Now the cooperation will be deepened, whereby Fischers will integrate the stallions of their sponsor family Dr. Flock and Voigtlänger into the stallion stock in Mühlen.

"With Tanja and Lukas Fischer we can welcome two extremely competent and motivated dressage professionals as new members of our team and are thus excellently positioned for the future," Paul Schockemöhle stated.

The dressage team at Schockemöhle will now consist of the Lukas Fischer as administrative manager as well as rider, alongside his wife Tanja, head rider Isabel Freese, American Brandi Roenick, and further rider assistants.
