Hollywood, the Jazz clone competed at international Grand Prix level by Patrick van der Meer, has been allocated to a Dutch young rider team member. Robin Heiden has received the ride on the chestnut gelding.

Hollywood is a clone of the legendary KWPN sire Jazz (by Cocktail x Ulster). He is owned by Broere Stud.

Two Jazz Clones

In March 2011 Dutch stallion station Broere commissioned the French laboratory Cryozootech to create a clone of their top stallion Jazz (by Cocktail x Ulster x Amor). Two healthy clones were born in the United States in 2012.

One got the name Hollywood, the other was never properly named and goes by "Jazz Clone 2". The latter was bought by Samantha Munoz of Dutch stud farm Kortland, who sold clone 2 to a rider in 2020.

Both clones were initially in training with Patrick van der Meer, but it was decided by Broere to produce Hollywood to advanced level

Dutch professional Patrick van der Meer trained and competed Hollywood up to Grand Prix level.

The pair made its international show debut at the 2021 CDI Grote Brogel at small tour level, riding only the Prix St Georges test (67.588%). A year later they rode their first CDI Grand Prix in Waregem, scoring 69.413%, and from there went to Leeuwarden. In 2023 they did one CDI in Exloo, twice scoring 69%.

At the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix Championships the pair placed 11th.

Robin Heiden

With Van der Meer moving into the Dutch team captain position, the ride on Hollywood has been allocated to a new rider.

The 20-year old Robin Heiden will continue the sport career of Hollywood. Heiden is an experienced youth rider, having represented The Netherlands at the 2019 European Pony Championships (Colourfull <sic> Cannonball), the 2020 and 2021 European Junior Riders Championships (on Gasmonkey and Jivando S) and at the 2022 and 2023 European Young Riders Championships (on Gasmonkey).

"This is a super cool opportunity," Heiden told Eurodressage. "The plan is to eventually compete in Under 25. His talent really lies with the piaffe-passage work."
