Londero von Worrenberg, a British team horse at the 2021 European Under 25 Championships, has been sold to Finland.

Londero von Worrenberg is a 14-year old Swiss warmblood (by Londontime x Calypso II x Akzent II). He is bred by Ferdi Hodel.

Swiss Start

As a 3-year old Londero von Worrenberg was approved for breeding at the 2012 Swiss Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Avenches.

Under Melanie Hofmann the black stallion was trained to Prix St Georges level. They were reserve champions in the 6-year old division at the 2015 Swiss Warmblood Young Horse Championships in Avenches. In that period the horse got gelded to be focused on sport.

Hofmann competed him through 2017 until she left the owner Hans Grunder's stables. Grunder's new rider Elena Fernandez took over the ride in 2018.

The new pair made its international show debut at the 2018 CDI Nice in the small tour and also competed at the CDI Crozet.  In 2019 they showed at the CDI's in Saumur and Compiegne.  Fernandez competed Londero at national level in Switzerland until August 2019. They did their first Intermediaire II test together.

North America and Back

In December 2019 Londero von Worrenberg sold to Canadian WEG team rider Jill Irving through Daniel Ramseier, but she ended up not competing him.

The horse was sent back to Europe and moved to Helen Langehanenberg's yard for further training and to be sold again.

British U25 Team Horse

In June 2020 Londero sold to British Ellen McCarthy. She put him in training with Charlotte Dujardin to confirm the Grand Prix movements on him.

Ellie began competing the gelding in the Intermediaire II in December 2020 and showed him through June 2022.

They competed at four internationals in that period: at the 2021 CDI Wellington Heckfield where they clinched a team nomination for the 2021 European Under 25 Championships in Hagen, where they scored 64.353% in the Inter II and 57.692% in the short Grand Prix.  The scores went back up at the CDI's in Le Mans and 2022 CDI Wellington, where they finished on a 65.391% in the senior Grand Prix and 66.035% in the Kur.

Sold to Finland

McCarthy bought a second Grand Prix horse, the now 9-year old Oldenburg Brave Heart. Originally named Braveheart Platinum (by Bordeaux x Tuschinski), he is a full brother to Sandra Nuxoll's Louidor Cup winner Bonheur de la Vie. Ellie has continued her competition career with Brave Heart.

Londero was sent to McLean Reitsport in Germany to be sold. He found a new home in Finland as a schoolmaster for Nora Sandberg.
