Dutch Children Team Rider Esmae Niessen Finds New Pony From Denmark

Dutch children team rider Esmae Niessen has found a new pony from Denmark to continue her career at pony level with. The Niessen family purchased Strandgaards Doleys. 

Strandgaards Doleys is a by Dr. Doolittle out of Maxine (by Dance of Joy x Golden Dancer x Vagabund). he is bred by Marie Louise Ebdrup at Stutteri Følle Strandgaard in Denmark and registered with the Schleswig-Holstein studbook in Germany.  

Danish FEI Pony

The pony made its show debut in Denmark as a 7-year old in 2018. He was first competed by Nora Kemper but halfway through the season Caroline S Jørgensen took over the ride. She also competed his sire Dr. Doolittle.

In 2019 the pony sold to Olaf Ehrenskjöld and became the ride for Sarah-Christine Ehrenskjöld, who consistently competed the pony at national level in Denmark until August 2021. 

In September 2021 Doleys sold the Nielsen family for Josephine Gert Nielsen to add to her string of ponies, which included her 2020 European Championshipt team pony Dot Com and Timms My Fritz at the time. The new duo its her national show debut in September 2021 and their international debut was in November 2021 at the CDI Aachen Indoor. In 2022 they competed at CDI's in Lier, Opglabbeek, Troisdorf, Aalborg and Hagen, but Nielsen got selected on the Danish team with her other FEI pony, Crimson Gold.

In September 2022 he sold to Danish Laura Amalie Odgaard, but the rider did not connect with the pony and never competed it. Doleys then commuted between Denmark and Holland in order to be sold. In June he was swapped for another pony in Denmark, but something permanent has now been found in The Netherlands.

A New Home in Holland

Doleys moves to his new home with Esmae Niessen in The Netherlands in August. She already owns and competes Strandgaards Do It My Way, who is also by Dr. Doolittle but out of Højvangs Bolette (by Bolero).

The 13-year old Esmae Niessen made her international show debut this year in the children division. She competed the 15-year old KWPN mare Dadona Diva (by Johnson x Rosenkavalier) first at the CDI Tolbert, followed by Exloo and Geesteren. The pair was nominated on the Dutch for the 2023 European Children Championships in Kronberg, where they were fourth in the team and finished sixth individually as the highest scoring Dutch pair. In the summer of 2023 the Niessen family purchased Strandgaards Do It My Way, who was previously shown by Danish Smilla Seneca Raahede. Esmae premiered the pony at the CDI Troisdorf in October. She has now added breeding barn buddy Doleys to her string.
