The German Equestrian Federation (FN) has announced the Grand Prix level dressage squads going into the new year, 2024.

At the of each current season, the dressage committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) names the riders and horses for the squads for next years. Horses who are not fit, or who haven't scored high enough to be considered for team selection are dropped from the list.

The Changes

There are several changes to the squads.

For the A/Olympic squad one new rider has been added, Matthias Rath, with both his horses. Franziskus, who got injured at the World Cup Finals in April and who hasn't made a come back yet, is still on the list; same for Famoso who was injured after Den Bosch in March has been retained. This horse made its come back at a national show recently.

The B-squad sees one combination dropped:  Carina Scholz with Soiree d'Amour. Also her number one GP horse Tarantino hasn't been shown internationally since July 2022. Dorothee Schneider is only listed with First Romance as Faustus has been retired from sport.

Two pairs have been dropped from the Under 25 squad: Alina Schrader (Paola) and Selina Söder (Zaire E). Semmieke Rothenberger's Flanell is no longer listed either. She last competed at the CDIO Aachen in July.
