The German Equestrian Federation has announced the updated dressage squads for 2023 following the German Championships in Balve.
The squads include the senior and Under 25 Grand Prix riders and form the basis from which the teams for the summer Championships are chosen.
Changes in the Squads
In December 2022 the DOKR nominated the squad for 2023 and six months later it has been updated.
Most interesting changes in the top squads are Isabell Werth's Superb, who has been dropped from the squad, as well as Daily Mirror and Annabelle (both retired from sport). Jessica von Bredow is only listed with one horse now, Dalera (Ferdinand BB has been dropped). Carina Scholz still hasn't made her return with her 2022 Grand Prix horse Tarantino.
In the U25 squad Alexa Westendarp, Paulina Holzknecht, and Joana Peterka have disappeared from the list.
And then there are several newcomers to the squads, such as Sönke Rothenberger, Bianca Nowag, and U25 riderd Collin, Hendricks, Rothenberger and Trischberger.
