Felix Kneese's international Grand Prix mare Quibelle has passed away. She was 15 years old.
Quibelle was an Oldenburg mare by Quaterback out of Shakira (by Sandro Hit x Donnerhall).
Shakira
She was bred by Stefanie Hladik out of her top mare Shakira.
Shakira also produced Quibelle’s full siblings Queen Kira (2014 World Young Horse Championships with Robert Acs) and Quentin GH (Grand Prix with Carina Scholz) and half siblings All In (by Ampere - small tour with Mate Garai) and Frederic S (by Fürstenreich - Nurnberger Butgpokal finalist with Thomas Wagner).
From Germany to Hungary
She was first competed in 2011 by Vanessa Andreas, but in 2012 the breeder and owner at the time, Stefanie Hladik, showed her a few time herself alongside Meike Popiolek and Cornelia Ortmann through 2014.
The mare sold via horse dealer Arnold Winter to Hungarian based Ukrainian Grand Prix rider Paulina Rejves, who schooled Quibelle to Grand Prix before sending her to Juliane Brunkhorst and then to Helgstrand in Denmark to be sold.
Andrea Viebrock
She was bought by the German Viebrock family, which is known for building farms and indoor arenas.
After a five year break from competition, Quibelle returned on the German national show scene in 2018 at medium tour level. They debuted straight away internationally on the Almased Amateur circuit in May 2018. They rode the medium tour classes at the CDI Hamburg and the Inter II and Grand Prix at the CDI Uggerhalne, winning all four tests they started in.
Viebrock showed her through March 2019 and then sent her back to Helgstrand to sell again. Severo Jurado Lopez took over the ride and showed her at two national competitions in Denmark in November and December 2019 at Grand Prix level.
Felix Kneese
The mare sold to Mareike Groth-Becker and the ride was allocated to Felix Kneese.
The pair premiered nationally in 2020 in Vreschen-Bokel and internationally at the 2021 CDI Verden. A month later competed in Herzlake. The focus was more on national showing and finished in silver medal position at the 2022 German Professional Dressage Riders Championships. Quibelle was the highest scoring horse in that finals with horse change.
They competed at two more internationals, the CDI Hamburg in May 2022 and the CDI Neustadt/Dosse in January 2023. This was also the last show in their career together.
Sad Passing
Unfortunately the mare passed away untimely in October 2023.
"This is a great loss for us and we are very sad about it," owner Mareike Groth-Becker told Eurodressage. "She died as a result of endotoxaemia."
