The Spanish equestrian federation has published the names of the riders who are long-listed for team selection for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
At the start of the Olympic year, team trainer Francis Verbeek visited the riders at home for a training and observation session and based on her impression and past merits of the riders, a long list has been drafted.
This list can change in the course of the season when new horse-and-rider combinations produce competitive score or horses drop out.
The announced long-list does not include the names of the horses, but based on public information, Eurodressage has made an assumption which horses would be in the running
The Spanish long listed riders are:
- Alejandro Asencio (Gaviao dos Cedros and Straight Horse Sezarion)
- Borja Carrascosa (Frizzantino and Sir Hubert)
- Claudio Castilla Ruiz (Hi Rico do Sobral and Lario de Adama de Susa)
- Beatriz Ferrer-Salat (Elegance and Fendi)
- José Antonio García Mena (Divina Royal and Gladiador)
- Pablo Gómez Molina (Ulises de ymas and Servus de Ymas)
