Bernadette Brune's WCYH finalist San to Alati has been honoured with the Weltmeyer prize at the annual private stallion owner stallion show in Verden on 3 February 2024.

Traditionally, the best young dressage and show jumping stallions are honoured by the Hannoveraner Verband after their performance test. The prize is named after the two foundation stallions Weltmeyer (dressage) and Stakkato (show jumping).

Since 2012 and for the 12th time the Weltmeyer Prize was awarded. In the first years after its inception only the best young stallion of the year was awarded with the Weltmeyer prize, but since 2012 the Hanoverian society began honouring multiple stallions with the title each year. As of 2024 they reduced it back to one sire per discipline to give full credit to the champion of champions.

The best young dressage stallion is San to Alati, who placed highly at the World Championships for young dressage horses. Don Corancito LW proved his outstanding talent on the show jumping course.

San to Alati (by Secret x Belissimo M - breeder: Lena-Marie and Kerstin Klose, Burgwedel, owner: Bernadette Brune, Westerstede) became this year's Weltmeyer Prize recipient. After his 14-day test, the beautiful chestnut stallion was licensed for Hanover. In his two sport tests focus dressage in the following years, he impressed with top scores. He won part I in Münster-Handorf with a score of 9.12 and 8.62 in Part II in Verden. At the same time, San to Alati became Hanoverian Young Horse Champion of four-year-old stallions in 2022, he finished 14th at the World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses in Ermelo/NED after winning the consolation class. He was also fourth at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf in the same year after winning the warm-up round.

All of this not only earned him the Weltmeyer Prize, but also the honour of being named FRH by the supporter’s club of Hanoverian sport horses.

San To Alati was not present at the award ceremony. Brune had to cancel his appearance in the Niedersachsenhall on short notice.
