Former Dutch team rider Diederik van Silfhout has sold his number one international Grand Prix horse, Filius Apache. The horse has moved to a German horse dealership.

Filius Apache is a 14-year old KWPN gelding by Apache out of Amazing Grace (by Tietse D x Farrington). He is bred by Trea Mulder-Dolsma.

Cross bred

The bay gelding is a KWPN x Friesian cross bred and was originally named Brinkhof's Filius Apache. He is a half brother to Johnny Be Goode (by Dream Boy), who competed with Emmelie Scholtens at the 2019 World Young Horse Championships and finished second in the 2019 Pavo Cup before selling to the U.S.A. Under American Olivia Lagoy-Weltz he became the 2022 U.S. Developing PSG Horse Champion. His last show was in February 2023 in an Intermediaire I test.

Filius Apache was first trained and competed by Marrit Reusien (who also first rode Johnny Be Goode). The pair competed at ZZ-level in 2017 and 2018. He was then produced to Grand Prix level by the breeder and owner herself, Trea Mulder-Dolsma.

The gelding sold to horse dealer and Grand Prix rider Diederik van Silfhout and made his international show debut in 2023.

They premiered at the CDI Exloo in May 2023 and scored 65.674% in their first CDI Grand Prix. A month later they competed at the CDI Geesteren.

After the pair finished fifth at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix Championships  they were selected to represented the Netherlands in the FEI Nations Cup at the CDIO Rotterdam , where they scored 69.565% in the Grand Prix and 75.045% int he Kur.  They went on to compete at the CDI's in Falsterbo and Leeuwarden

Sold

Diederik van Silfhout has been long-listed for Dutch Olympic team consideration with his small tour horse Dante U.S.  Filius Apache was not mentioned on the list.

Instead the 14-year old gelding has been sold to a horse dealer. "Filius ha been sold to her and she will ride him herself," Diederik told Eurodressage. The identity of the buyer was not revealed as her website does not include any name or identity behind her dealership.
