One year after her big move to Austria to work for the Schmidt family at Bartlgut, Finnish Grand Prix rider Terhi Stegars left for another Austrian stable, Pramwaldhof.

After 14 years being based in Luxembourg, Stegars move her family to Austria to start a new chapter at Gestüt Bartlgut on 1 April 2023. She replaced Ulrike Prunthaller who went her own way after a twenty year collaboration with the Schmidt family. Stegars stated that she was in pursuit of an Olympic dream and at Bartlgut her options would be better.

Although Terhi was currently the third best scoring rider for Finland on Bartlgut's Quadrofilius and in contention for Finnish team selection, she gave up that Olympic goal and moved to Pramwaldhof on 1 May 2024.

"The last couple of months have been an emotional rollercoaster ride for me," Stegars took to social media. " Ending my Olympic dream (only for this time though!), I have chosen a wonderful opportunity to work with Astrid Neumayer at Gestüt Pramwaldhof, starting from the 1st of May."

Rumours of Stegars' exit at Bartlgut already went round in March but the rider only announced the news yesterday after having settled in at Pramwaldhof one month ago. She joins a larger group of riders who work for Austrian Grand Prix rider and stallion owner Astrid Neumayer.

"Astrid’s team of riders are Judit Sarda Mane, Unai Paredes Pujol, Matthias Bouten and me," Terhi explained.
