Dutch Under 25 team rider Daphne van Peperstraten has secured a new horse for her string: Sonnenberg JAM.
The black gelding is a 2018 born Hanoverian by Secret out of Serenade (by Swarovski x Furst Heinrich). He is bred by Klaus-Dieter Rickels.
Linda Kouwenhoven
Owned by JAM stables in The Netherlands, Sonnenberg was trained and competed by Linda Kouwenhoven.
The pair finished 12th with 7.8 in the first round of the 2022 Hanoverian Young Horse Championships in Verden, but did not move into the Finals round.
In 2023 they qualified for the Bundeschampionate at a qualifier in Cloppenburg. In Warendorf they landed 45th place in the 5-year old consolation finals with 7.1.
The dup also showed in the Horsefood competition in Holland.

Kouwenhoven's employer, former international Grand Prix rider and now horse dealer Christa Larmoyeur sold Sonnenberg JAM to Daphne van Peperstraten.
"I'm very happy with him and so looking forward to getting to work with him," said Daphne. "We'll do our best."
Van Peperstraten is the 2017 European Junior Riders Champion and 2020 European Young Riders Champion. Since 2022 she has been competing at Under 25 Grand Prix level with her top ride, 17-year old Cupido (by Johnson x Duko) and at small tour level with 12-year old Hotmail V (by Apache x Silvano N).
Van Peperstraten clarified that her family now co-owns Sonnenberg with JAM stables. "A beautiful, new collaboration," Daphne added.
