Cosmo Callidus, the 2023 European Pony Champion, has been sold to Denmark. He will continue his sport career under Steffanie Dyrlund.

Cosmo Callidus is a 9-year old Westfalian stallion by Cosmopolitan out of Coco Chanel (by Cyriac). He is bred by Bernd Sabel.

Triple Bundeschampion

The bay was licensed at the 2017 Westfalian Pony Stallion Licensing in Munster.

Tanja Fischer first competed the stallion, earning silver at the 2018 Westfalian young pony championships and gold at the 2018 Bundeschampionate. In 2019 Fischer returned to Warendorf with Cosmo Callidus and reclaimed the title in the 4-year old stallion class, after winning gold at the 2019 Westfalian young pony championships.

In the summer of 2020, Cosmo Callidus made his show debut under Antonia Busch-Kuffner. They won the 5-year old dressage pony finals at the 2020 Bundeschampionate.

Lilly Collin

In December 2020 Cosmo Callidus sold to Gerrit Collin for his daughter Lilly to ride.

First trained by Anna Franz the pair began by placing second at the 2021 Bundeschampionate b'efore they debuted at international pony level at the 2022 CDI Lier.

That year they rode in Le Mans, Hagen and Kronberg that year before heading to the 2022 European Pony Championships in Strzegom, where they won team and individual test gold. They were fifth in the Kur. They got bronze at the 2022 German Pony Championships.

Triple gold at the 2023 European Pony Championships
The pair switched to trainer Stefanie Wittmann. In 2023 the duo showed in Aachen, Compiegne and Hagen before making it to the 2023 European Pony Championships in Le Mans, where they got team, individual and Kur gold. They also won the German Pony Championships.

Sold to Denmark

Fairly late in the year (as most ponies move to new riders in the autumn/winter), Cosmo Callidus has now been sold to Denmark.

The pony will continue under Steffanie Horsted Dyrlund, who has been competing in both dressage and show jumping.  This year she competed Tarzan in jumping and Aurora A (by Dressman II x Fortissimo ox) in dressage at national level in Denmark. Last year she won the Danish Championships in category III (small ponies) on 27-year old Magic Manipu (by Norlund Vincente)

"I was really looking forward to getting him home, and after some long weeks he finally arrived today," said Steffanie. "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Thank you very much to my loyal sponsors (my mum and dad, in case anyone should be in doubt), you are the best."
