The Dutch equestrian federation (KNHS) has announced that Marieke van der Putten has replaced Marlies van Baalen as non-travelling reserve for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Van Baalen and her home bred Habibi DVB (by Johnson x Don Schufro) were selected as the second, non-travelling reserve after Edward Gal produced higher scores in the second Dutch team selection trial in Rotterdam.

Van Baalen has now withdrawn from this position.

"Marlies van Baalen decided after long deliberation to withdraw her Habibi DVB NOP. The gelding is not 100% fit and that is an obstacle to an optimal preparation," KNHS communicated.

Marieke van der Putten and Saskia and Jacques Lemmens' Danish warmblood Torveslettens Titanium (by Totilas x Stedinger) will replace them. The pair scored 71.130% in the Grand Prix and 74.021% in the GP Special this week at the 2024 CDIO Aachen.
