Swiss Grand Prix rider Andrina Suter has lost the ride on three of Robert Lualdi's horses, including her 2024 Paris Olympic mount Fibonacci.
Suter said goodbye to three horses: Fibonacci, Briatore, and Depeche Mode.
Andrina Suter
The 32-year old Suter is from Dörflingen, Switzerland, and grew up on her parents' farm. She took up riding as of childhood and competed at the 2009 and 2010 European Junior Riders Championships and 2012 European Young Riders Championships on Trakehner Popcorn II (by Anduc x Flaneur) and at the 2013 European Young Riders Championships on the Holsteiner Calisto III (by Calimero x Silbersee). In 2014 she made the transition to Under 25 Grand Prix level on the Swedish warmblood Axiom (by D-Day x Krevad).
After finishing high school worked as a sales agent for Colada before deciding on a career with horses. She worked as an assistant rider at Stable Lenherr for one year before returning to her own farm. In the summer of 2017 she represented Switzerland at the European Under 25 Championships, before setting up her independent business in October 2017.
For four years Andrina disappeared from the international show scene to return in 2021 at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden with Lualdi's Briatore, who finished fourth in the 6-year old finals.
Career Highlights
Aboard Lualdi's horses, Andrina achieved several career highlights.
In August 2022 she finished sixth in the 7-year old finals of the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo aboard Briatore. However the year culminated in a whopping victory in the 2022 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals on Briatore and a second place on Del Curto (by Dimaggio x Wolkentanz II).
In 2023 she took Robert Schmid and Eva Senn's Del Curto to medium tour level. Briatore did his last CDI at the 2023 CDI Aachen at small tour level and did not show internationally in 2024. Suter has been producing Lualdi's Hanoverian mare Depeche Mode (by Dimaggio x Goethe) to S-level. A month ago Charlotte Richter first showed her in Bümach, Switzerland.
In 2024 Lualdi's 14-year old Westfalian Fibonacci (by Flanagan x Woldman) took over the baton as the number one in the barn and Suter qualified him as the Swiss individual pair for the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they placed 55th in the Grand Prix with 65.590%. They were fourth at the 2024 Swiss Championships and last weekend scored 64.413% in the Grand Prix at the CDI Donaueschingen
Goodbye to Three
Today Suter said goodbye to her three top horses.
"With a heavy heart I have to say goodbye to three exceptional horses," she stated. "A farewell to far more than just sports partners. They were teachers, friends and an inexhaustible source of success, inspiration and joy."
She continued, "with farewell comes the moment to look back and realize how much we've accomplished together. But as hard as it is to let go, I also know that everything has its own time. (...)
I am sad, but at the same time endlessly grateful for all they have given me."
Andrina added, "where a door closes, a window opens."
Suter told Eurodressage she does not want to disclose any additional information beyond her original statement.
