Dos Amigos, the 2022 Bundeschampion in the 7-year old division, has been sold to Canada. Rider and owner Leonie Richter sold her horse to Linda Houweling.

Dos Amigos is a 9-year old Oldenburg gelding by Dimaggio out of Roxane (by Sir Donnerhall x Rohdiamant). He is bred by Constanze Fürste.

The bay was discovered as a 4-year old by Leonie Richter in 2019.

She competed him first in March 2020 in the dressage horse A-level test and finished 38th in the 5-year old preliminary test at the 2020 Bundeschampionate. In 2021 he competed in some  Bundeschampionate qualifiers.

In 2022 the pair came in the spotlight when they showed in the Developing PSG horse classes (PSG Special) in Okel, Balve, and Elmlohe. They were long-listed for the 2022 World Young Horse Championships but did not make the team. Their season culminated in a significant victory at the 2022 Bundeschampionate in the 7-year old division. It was the first year that the FN hosted a championship for 7-year olds

Richter produced the horse to Grand Prix level. The pair returned to the national arena in Ankum in November 2023 a year after winning their BuCha title. In Ankum they rode their first Intermediaire II test. In 2024 he showed in several Inter II and Short GP tests in Haftenkamp, Bettenrode, Gleichen, and Rastede.  Dos Amigos never competed internationally

Sold to Canada

Leonie Richter has now sold Dos Amigos to Canada. His new rider will be Linda Houweling from Vancouver, BC.

Richter described her gelding as "a horse who always joins in and wants to work. With so much ambition and attitude, it was a real pleasure to train him."

The 61-year old Houweling is an amateur FEI level rider and the mother of former 20211 North American Junior Riders medalist Monica Houweling. Her main ride has been Zaouira (OLD, by Zack x Andiamo) which she bought in 2014. Three years after back surgery, Linda Houweling premiered on the international stage in the amateur classes at the 2020 CDI Temecula. It was her last show on the mare. In 2021 she returned to national showing with Senzation DC (CWB, by Sezuan x Weltmeyer) whom she showed through 2024. Lidna trained with Shelly Lauder and Leslie Reid.
