Dutch Olympic team rider Dinja van Liere has received the ride on the KWPN licensed stallion Imposantos.

He is an 11-year old KWPN stallion by Wynton out of Zarina (by Krack C x Sultan). He is bred by KWPN Breeder of the Year Willy Wijnen, who named him Imposant W.

Licensed

He was discovered by his current owner Theo Driessen at the 2013 Borculo Foal Auction.

As a young horse the ride was allocated to Bart Veeze, who produced the stallion to Grand Prix level in the 8.5 years he had him in training.

In 2017 the black stallion was licensed after completing a shortened 21-day autumn stallion performance test in Ermelo in November 2017.

Young Horse Success

At the 2018 WCYH in Ermelo
The pair was highly successful in young horse sport in Holland.

The pair won the 2016 VSN Trophy, a 3-year old talent scouting competition.  They were third in the 2017 Pavo Cup Finals and won the Finals in 2018 and 2019. He won the KWPN Stallion Competition three years in a row (2018-2020).

He represented the KWPN breed at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo in 2018 (7th place) and in 2019 (5th place). He won the 2020 Dutch Dressage Championships at Z-level. In 2021 he competed nationally in Germany and in Bettenrode the pair qualified for the 2021 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals, but did not compete in them.

It took three years since his last start in at the 2019 WCYH in Ermelo for Imposantos to return to the international arena. In April 2022 he competed in the small tour at the CDI Hagen, where he finished second in the PSG and Inter I. He won the 2022 Dutch Small Tour Championships. He did his first season at Grand Prix level in 2023, showing mainly at national shows in Germany.

His international Grand Prix debut was at the 2024 CDI Exloo, where he scored 64.087% in his first CDI Grand Prix test.  Four months later he showed in the CDI Hagen Covalliero Dressage Days and got 64.826% in the Grand Prix and 70.585% in the Kur. It was the pair's last show.

Bart Veeze announced that he has parted ways with Imposantos after 8.5 years.

"The owner of Imposantos decided to take another route and bring the stallion to Dinja van Liere. She will continue to train and compete him," said Veeze.  "Many thanks go to the Driessen family, for the past 8.5 years with this fantastic stallion and of course we will miss 'Impo' immensely."
