Kathrin Glock, wife and heir to the fortune of the late gun mogul Gaston Glock, has announced that the Dutch branch of “Glock Horse Performance Center” will cease to be.
After questions sent to Kathrin Glock by Eurodressage on 19 November, the following press release was issued today:
We would like to inform you of the following:
The GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Netherlands is withdrawing from international equestrian sport and breeding in connection with the expiring contract.
We have already communicated this internally. Our horses will not be sold, but will find a new home at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER Austria. We ask for your understanding that we will not be answering any press inquiries.
More details of what this decision entails for thz staff, the horses and the property will be posted at a later point.
Glock began sponsoring the Dutch Olympic duo in 2012 and supplied them with a steady stream of horses (Voice, Total US, Toto Jr, Flirt, Johnson, amongst others) which carried both riders to multiple major championships and team and individual medals. The duo works out of the Glock owned farm in Oisterbeek, The Netherlands.
