Hungarian Grand Prix team rider Aniko Losonczy-Komjáthy has been elected the new chair of the Dressage Committee at the Hungarian Equestrian Federation.

Elections took place on 10 November 2024 and a brand new committee has been assembled.

New Dressage Committee

Aniko succeeds Viktor Kertész as chair of the DC and she will be joined by newly appointed committee members Andrea Budai, Annamaria Gyorfi, Alexandra Husz, Peter Jenei, Zsofia Racz and Kinga Wagner.

"As president my main goal is to provide a secure and stable framework for the sport of dressage and to establish a body that is able to set the long-term and short-term goals of our dressage community," Losonczy told Eurodressage. "We want to provide the professional and financial support and background to enable riders, trainers, competition organizers, sponsors and judges to innovate, learn and develop."

Wind of Change

A wind of change seems to blowing through the Hungarian national federation as the dressage committee has expanded from five members to include seven now.

"The amount of work required to achieve the above objectives and the complexity of the department's tasks require an increase in the number of members of the department committee from the current 5 to 7," Aniko added.

Leaving the committee are Kertesz, alongside Zsófia Dallos, Csaba Szokola, and Ildiko Fonyódi. Dallos also resigned as long time chef d'Equipe on 1 November 2024 and a new team captain is being sought.

"I was 9 years long in the position," Dallos told Eurodressage. "I resigned just because I was member of the Dressage Committee too, and the whole Committee resigned, so I gave up also this position. I really liked it, and maybe one time again when they will need me I will be happy to do it again. Now we have a brand new committee so I think they need a new Chef d’Equipe too."

Tasks at Hand

When asked what major changes she hopes to achieve in the Hungarian dressage world, she stated that she hopes to make the dressage rules "clear and unambiguous for everyone and in line with the regulations of the equestrian organizations."

Furthermore she hopes for more cross-collaboration between the disciplines and to "create smaller professional committees and representations (trainers' committee, riders' representation, competition organizers' committee, judges' committee, etc.)."

In addition she wants to create "an official online forum to establish proper communication between the committee and all members of our community" amongst many other points.
