Schwarzgold was awarded the title of Trakehner Stallion of the Year 2024 during the gala show at the 2024 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster, Germany.

The imposing black stallion is not only the 30th Trakehner Stallion of the Year, but also the fifth title winner for Gestüt Hörem. Schwarzgold has an impressive breeding record: 18 licensed sons, includingchampion stallion Perpignan Noir, reserve champion Instagram, Luxus, the champion stallion of the Danish Trakehner licensing, S** dressage winner Speedway and Trakehner dressage horse champion Hallifax.

Schwarzgold is the sire of over 100 registered mares. He has produced various champion and reserve champion mares at the central inspections and mare performance tests. Also 60 Trakehner auction horses and foals speak for the quality of this year's title winner.

Schwarzgold was a premium stallion at the 2011 licensing, but a consortium led by breeder Sabine Oberdieck, who died too young, did not put the stallion up for auction. Since then, he has enjoyed a sheltered and supportive home at Hubertus and Ferdinand Poll's Gestüt Hörem. He has developed into a flagship sire. He is a guardian of the Hörem legacy through his sire Imperio (2018), his grand sires Consul (1997) and Connery (2012) as well as his great-grand sire Buddenbrock (2010)

In sport, Schwarzgold competed under Sascha Böhnke in advanced dressage tests up to Prix St. Georges, while various offspring are already proving themselves in advanced (S) level dressage competitions in the big arena.

At the award ceremony, Theresa von Schultzendorff (née Wahler) presented Schwarzgold under saddle in the Grand Prix movements.
