German Olympian Dorothee Schneider has expanded her collaboration with Gestüt Gut Neuenhof by welcoming three of their stallions into her barn in the last half year.
In the last decade stallion owners and dressage lovers Axel and Sandra Schürner developed a strong partnership with Hubertus Schmidt, who rode their flagship stallion Escolar to the German Olympic team reserve spot in 2016.
Since Schmidt's retirement as a competition rider, more of their stallions have been distributed to other riders. Dorothee Schneider got the ride on Vainqueur in 2023. The horse was sold by Neuenhof to Schneider's long-time sponsor Gabriele Kippert and Eva-Maria Mann.
Collaboration Expanded
A few days ago, Schneider announced that she expanded her string of horses with Neuenhof's Etienne and Maxim-N after Esperado already joined her last summer. She made her public premier with Etienne at the stallion show during the Agravis cup in Munster.
"Together with Sandra and Axel Schürner - who, by the way, saved the historic E-line by their breeding sense and a nose for good horses - I will continue to promote these impressive horses and work with them on new challenges. Her quality, potential and character impressed me immediately," Schneider said in an official statement on social media. I’m honoured to be a part of this success story and I’m excited for what’s ahead."
Neuenhof Trio
The 9-year old Westfalian Esperado (by Escolar x Danone) already arrived at Schneider's in August 2024. He was previous trained and competed by Katharina Hemmer. She rode him to a 24th place in the 6-year old preliminary round at the 2022 Bundeschampionate. Before Hemmer there were Charlotte Tollhopf and Lukas Fischer who first showed the horse.
The 8-year old KWPN bred Maxim-N (by Toto Jr x Johnson) was first ridden by Charlotte Tollhopf, followed by Anna Schölermann and then Moritz Treffinger at Bonhomme. He last competed the stallion in August 2024.
The 6-year old Westfalian stallion Etienne (by Escolar x Sir Donnerhall) was debuted by Lisa Horler in 2022, while in 2023 Treffinger took over the ride. Their last start was in June 2024.
