The Oldenburg bred Extreme U.S. was the most popular KWPN stallion in The Netherlands amongst breeders in 2023. The 6-year old stallion covered the most mares in 2023, which resulted in 454 born foals in 2024.
KWPN reported that in 2024 there were 10,500 foals born (show jumping and dressage bred). Around 5,000 per discipline, 197 Gelderlanders and 503 harness horses.
1. Extreme U.S.
Extreme U.S. is by Escamillo x Vivaldi x Don Schufro and is bred by Paul Schockemöhle. He is co-owned by the breeder with Dutch stallion keeper Joop van Uytert,
Extreme U.S. went through a string of names before KWPN and his owners settled for Extreme U.S. He was first known as El Vivo PS when he sold (in part) to Van Uytert for an online auction price of 95,000 euro. He then went to the KWPN licensing as Eurostar US, began the performance test as Easy Boy US, and won the performance testing after which he was named Extreme U.S. In 2023 he won the Pavo Cup Finals and in 2024 the KWPN Stallion Competition Finals.
In 2024 Extreme U.S. saw the most foals born and KWPN registered of all dressage stallions. He sired no less than 454 foals that year
2. McLaren
Following far in the distance is McLaren, another Oldenburg bred stallion that dominates KWPN breeding.
The bay Morricone x Sir Donnerhall x Akzent II is owned by Reesink Horses and sired 186 foals.
McLaren is currently being trained by Dutch Olympian Dinja van Liere and saw all four of the pre-selected sons at the 2025 KWPN Licensing get selected for the performance test.

This year the KWPN released the statistics of the top ten of most used dressage breeding stallions, while in the past it only listed a top five.
