Austrian Olympian Victoria Max-Theurer has added a cross-bred Lusitano horse to her string; L'Espoir de Massa. Dressprod reported the sale first.

L'Espoir de Massa is a 10-year old Portuguese Sport Horse by Rubin Royal out of Opera de la Font (by Landim SSC). He is bred by Sylvain Massa.

Sport Career in France

Born in French ownership, L'Espoir was first trained and competed by Massa's in-house stable rider Renaud Ramadier in 2019 and 2020.

Three years later the horse resurfaced at medium tour level under former French team rider Pierra Volla. In February 2024 L'Espoir made his national Grand Prix debut and won. The pair continued competing at national level in France with six successive victories.

They won the 2024 French Grand Prix Championships in Vierzon, but have not competed internationally yet

Austria

L'Espoir has now been sold to Austrian Victoria Max-Theurer.

The Achleiten based rider competed two Grand Prix horses in 2024: Abegglen and Topas. With the former she finished 17th in the Kur to Music in Paris.
