Mathieu Beckmann's business building breeding stallion Laudabilis has passed away on 26 March 2025. He was 25 years old.
Laudabilis was a Hanoverian by Lauries Crusador xx out of Wassia (by Warkant x Eiger I x Busoni xx). He was bred by Georg Hardekopf-Hartmann.
Licensed
The bay was licensed at the 2002 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, where he sold to Mathieu Beckmann and Adolf-Theo Schurf. He became stationed with Beckmann in Wettringen as one of the first stallions to launch his business.
He did his 30-day performance test in Munster-Handorf in March 2003 and scored 9,25 for dressage and 6,56 for jumping. He achieved his full licensed status through his sport results as a young stallion.
Laudabilis was approved for Westfalia in 2003 and for Oldenburg in 2004.
Sport Career
Laudabilis's career in the spotlight and popularity as a breeding and sport stallion was rather short and mainly in the first years of him standing at stud.
The stallion then disappeared from the show scene for six years. He made a brief come back under Tanja Krampe at M-level in 2012.
Breeding Stallion
As a breeding stallion he mainly made his mark in the first years while he was successful in sport.
He sired 10 licensed sons of which 7 made it into studbook I. They are Laurestan, Lauricio, Limnos, Lindner I and II, Lino Ventura, Looking Forward, Luciano Pavarotti, Lecoux and a nameless one. Nine of those are from his crops born between 2004 and 2006.
He has 161 daughters registered as broodmare and 31 of them are state premium mares.
His most earning offspring in Germany is jumper (!) Lauricio (under Lukas Wappler).
Passing
Beckmann announced the stallion's passing on Facebook.
