Frederic Wandres' Louisdor Cup reserve champion Joy Game has been sold to a Croatian junior rider who is aiming for the 2025 European Junior Championships in Le Mans this summer.
Joy Game is an 11-year old KWPN gelding by Davino VOD out of Todusja (by Gribaldi x Jetset D). He is bred by J. Breedveld.
Jovanni B
Originally named Jovanni B, the dark bay was initially trained and competed by Margriet Hingstman in The Netherlands. She presented him in the 2018 L&R Horse Events’ Young Talent in Tolbert and tried for Dutch team selection for the 2019 World Young Horse Championships. She finished 17th in the 2019 Pavo Cup Finals.
Jovanni sold to Germany in August 2020 and moved to Hof Kasselmann. He then found a new owner in Elizabeth Morel at the 2020 PSI auction.
Joy Game
The horse remained in Hagen and got renamed Joy Game.
In 2022 Morell competed him herself at M-level in Haftenkamp and Munster and then handed the ride to Holga Finken, who premiered him at Intermediaire II level.
Frederic Wandres
In the summer of 2023 Joy Game returned to Hof Kasselmann for Frederic Wandres to establish him at Grand Prix level.
They rode their first Inter II test in Ankum before crossing the Atlantic to have their GP-debut in Wellington, Florida in January 2024. The pair competed in two international shows that year: in the Palm Beach Derby in the U.S.A. and at the CDIO Compiegne in France.
At the end of the year they became the reserve champions in the 2024 Louisdor Cup Finals for Developing Grand Prix Horses in Frankfurt. The pair’s last Grand Prix test was in Ankum on 20 February 2025, where he placed second with 72.167%.
Junior Hopeful
Their 14-year old daughter Dariia Novinskaia rides for Croatia and will boost Croatian dressage sport as she aspires to compete at the 2025 European Junior Riders Championships in Le Mans (FRA) this summer.
Based at Hof Kasselmann and under the guidance of Wandres, Dariia premiered Joy Game at the local show in Haftenkamp last weekend, where she got to know her horse in a competition atmosphere. She placed fifth in an M-level test with a 7.3 score.
