Dr. Marc Koene has resigned as German dressage team veterinarian. He served this role for a decade.
The FN confirmed to Eurodressage that "Marc Koene is no longer team vet for the German dressage horses. The decision was made for personal reasons."
Koene was appointed German dressage team vet in November 2014 and he took up the function as of 2015. He succeeded Dr. Cordula Gather. Koene was previously the German team vet for the carriage drivers, a job he accepted in 2005.
Dutch born Marc Koene owns and runs equine clinic Lüsche near Cloppenburg, Germany. The equine clinic is managed together with Jan-Hein Swagemakers (German jumping team vet), Franziska Kremer & Tim Steinberg (both DOKR team vets), and Niklas Drumm. The clinic is the largest in Germany with 140 employees.
The German Equestrian Federation did not post a press release about Koene's resignation, nor replied to the question who will replace him.
