The German team has undergone a last minute substitution for the 2025 European Children Championship in Le Mans.
Grete Röwe has dropped out and the first reserve has been called up to replace the pair.
The 2025 European Championships for ponies, children and junior riders is set to kick off today at the Pole Europeen du Cheval in Le Mans, France, an experienced host of FEI championships. In 2023 the venue hosted the European Pony Championships and this year added Children and Juniors to its programme.
Title defenders Germany are fielding Lilly Kasselmann (Vodka Soda), Marielen Osterhoff (Davina), Lynn Soddemann (Fürst Schwarzenberg MT) and Greta Röwe (Kalimero) for its Children team this year.
Unfortunately the latter pair, Greta Röwe and her 13-year old Trakehner Kalimero (by Hibiskus x Munchhausen), are not fit to compete. The 14-year old Röwe, who is in her last year as a children rider, is a new comer to the team with only one CDI start to her name: the German team selection trial at the CDI Hagen, where she won all three rounds in the CDI tour.
German team captain Caro Roost has called up first reserve, Laura Kohoutek on her 7-year old Hanoverian mare Shakeela (by Secret x Royal Blend), to replace her.
Two years ago in Le Mans, Germany has to do a similar last minute replacement when Marie Teresa Pohl stepped for Hubertus Stallmeister in the nick of time.
