The Dutch equestrian federation has announced its team for the 2025 European Dressage Championships in Crozet, France on 26 - 31 August 2025.
The Dutch team will be captained by Patrick van der Meer who made his choice after the Dutch Dressage Championships last weekend.
Team NL includes
- Dinja van Liere - Hermes
- Marieke van der Putten - Zantana
- Thamar Zweistra - Luxuriouzz
- Rowena Weggelaar - Don Quichot
The reserve is Geert-Jan Raateland on Gladiator.
"We are very happy that Hermès is in good form,” said Van der Meer. “We see that, even after a quieter period in sport, he is still a rock to rely on for us. He is truly a solid member of the team. Marieke and Thamar also have two fantastic horses, but they lack experience. It's a team the Netherlands can be proud of. A strong team with plenty of potential ahead of the World Championships next year and the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.”
Team rookie is 20-year Weggelaar on 17-year old Don Quichot.
"With Rowena, we've added a young rider who's already had a very good season. She's a youthful rider who rides with great sympathy and harmony. That was the deciding factor for us to include her in the team," said Patrick.
