The Italian equestrian federation has nominated the riders for its team to represent Italy at the 2025 European Para Dressage Championships in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 3 - 7 September 2025.
The nominations were based on the recommendation of the para dressage selection committee, which includes Barbara Ardu, Alessandro Benedetti, and Francesco Girardi.
Nominated for Italy are:
- Massimiliano Chiatante – Un Euro
- Sara Morganti – Mariebelle (reserve horse: Royal Delight)
- Francesca Salvadè – Escari
- Federica Sileoni – Leonardo (reserve horse: No-Way)
- reserve: Carola Semperboni – Shiraz
The release of the nominative entries led to some confusion as Chiatante announced his nomination on Instagram, but then removed it shortly afterwards. A dispute about his spot and Semperboni's reserve place lies at the base.
Grade I rider Massimiliano Chiatante and the 16-year old Un Euro (by Prinz Clearcento x Orty) showed at the same three CPEDI's in Ornago and Stadl Paura. Trained by James Connor, Chiatante scored 70.070%, 68.750%, and 66.806% in the Grand Prix A tests, and 66.597%, 67.083%, and 69.236% in the Grand Prix B tests.
The definite entry deadline is on 20 August
